As the assistant engineering manager, you will support the department head in managing budget, maintenance activities, and ensuring safety and security of the building and grounds. your role will involve overseeing the distribution of work orders, supervising staff, and maintaining open communication channels to enhance guest and employee satisfaction.

Key responsibilities:

Supervise distribution of repair work orders and ensure fair administration of property policies.

Assist in planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.

Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with employees, fostering a positive work environment.

Monitor timeliness and quality of repair work completion, stepping in to manage engineering in the absence of the director.

Manage the physical plant, including equipment, hvac, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Inspect facilities to assess required maintenance and ensure compliance with property standards.

Provide emergency response services 24/7 and repair equipment as necessary.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or ged with 4 years of experience in engineering and maintenance, or related field; or 2-year degree in building and construction, engineering, mechanics, or related major with 2 years of relevant experience.

Technical training in hvac-r, electrical, and plumbing.

Skills & competencies:

Supervisory skills to effectively manage repair work distribution and staff performance.
