Key responsibilities:

• develop structural design concepts and solutions for various projects, considering factors such as loadings, materials, and construction methods.

• perform structural analysis and calculations using engineering software and tools to evaluate the behavior and performance of structural systems under different loading conditions.

• ensure that structural designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including international codes such as aci, aisc, and eurocodes.

• review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documents to verify compliance with structural requirements.

• provide technical support and guidance during the construction phase of projects, responding to requests for information (rfis), reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site visits as needed.

• collaborate with contractors, architects, and other project stakeholders to address structural issues, resolve conflicts, and ensure the successful execution of structural designs.

• create detailed structural models, drawings, and specifications using computer-aided design (cad) software, ensuring accuracy and completeness of structural documentation.

• coordinate with drafters and designers to prepare structural drawings, plans, and details for construction purposes.

• manage structural aspects of projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

• communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and facilitate project progress.

Qualifications:

• bachelor's degree in civil engineering or structural engineering; master's degree preferred.

• a professional engineer (pe) license or eligibility for licensure is required.

• minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering or related field.
